Filipino American voters, go out and vote! Here are the midterm issues we need to address:
- The Economy
- Americans are hobbled by the highest inflation rates in 40 years. Our economy is veering into a recession as the top issues confronting the country before the midterm elections. Fifty-four percent of likely voters say the economy and inflation, combined.
- Oil and natural gas are in short supply here in the US, and prices have spiked. The Biden administration is starting to pass the blame. Experience teaches us that the one accusing others the loudest is usually shifting blame or trying to avoid being accountable. This administration has caused this supply crisis with its pro-green/anti-fossil fuels energy policies.
- The cost of living is more than double due to rising prices and inflation. Especially fuel costs.
- Violent Crime
- More than 75% of voters said violent crime is a major problem in the United States today. Violent crime includes aggravated assault, robbery, rape, and homicide.
- The present soft crime policy and defunding of police are too problematic. The rise in crime is a direct result of defunding the police as well as the “dangerously liberal on crime” policies.
- Education
- The American education system is weakening. The covid-19 pandemic changed the way Americans talk about schooling. Present data from the National Center for Education Statistics shows students are dropping behind in reading, mathematics, and science proficiency.
- Prioritizing sex and gender education to describe sexuality, biological sex, and gender identities, and including correct pronoun(s) to use for our young people is damaging our youth.
- Immigration
- The present administration and most major media outlets (except for Fox News) largely ignored the humanitarian crisis at the southwest border. Once the illegal migrant buses started rolling into Washington DC and Manhattan, they had no choice but to cover it. It forces the local administration to declare an emergency to deal with the migrant issues.
- Immigration issues heightened underscoring the urgent need for a federal response. With the midterms, Biden and congressional Democrats are hoping that the administration’s border failures could just stay hidden.
- The opposite of what is happening, as concerns over immigration begin to motivate an already energized electorate.
- One party system must not control the house of congress and/or senate.
- Vote for politicians willing to work for the American people and not benefit their pockets.
- Any attempt to form an opinion against the one party of controls the government is regarded as an act of treason.
